π Terms of Use
Last updated: 05 Aug 20261. About MyPetCare.Pro
MyPetCare.Pro (the "Platform") is a listing and booking service that connects pet owners with independent pet care businesses (dog walkers, sitters, groomers and similar). The Platform exists to help owners and businesses find each other, share availability and coordinate services. It is currently available only within the United Kingdom.
2. Payments β optional, and on your terms
Prices are set by the business, and how you pay is entirely between you and them: cash, bank transfer, or any method you both agree on. Paying through the Platform is optional and offered purely for convenience β neither owners nor businesses are ever required to use it.
If you pay through the Platform
Once a booking is complete, a business may send you a secure card payment link. Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout pages β MyPetCare.Pro never sees, handles or stores your card or bank details β and the money is paid to the business's own Stripe account. To accept card payments a business must complete Stripe's onboarding and accept Stripe's Connected Account Agreement; Stripe may require identity and bank verification.
What it costs
Pet owners pay only the booking price. MyPetCare.Pro never adds a fee to what you pay. A single fee is deducted from the business's payout, made up of:
Card processing, charged by Stripe β currently around 1.5% + 20p for standard UK consumer cards (international and commercial cards cost more, per Stripe's published pricing); and
a 2% MyPetCare.Pro platform fee.
For example, on a Β£30 booking the client pays Β£30, roughly Β£1.25 is deducted, and the business receives about Β£28.75. We may change the platform fee in future; any change applies only to payments made after these terms are updated.
Refunds and off-platform payments
Refunds are a matter between the business and the client and can be issued through Stripe. Note that Stripe does not return its card processing fee on a refunded payment. Payments arranged directly between owner and business are solely between them β we are not a party to those arrangements and are not involved in any dispute about them.
3. Businesses operate at their own risk
Pet care businesses listed on MyPetCare.Pro operate as independent service providers entirely at their own risk. They are responsible for their own insurance, licensing, vehicles, equipment, training and any qualifications required to safely deliver the services they offer. MyPetCare.Pro does not verify, vet, employ or supervise businesses and makes no warranty as to their competence, conduct or availability.
Credentials and the "Verified" badge
Businesses can list credentials on their profile β insurance, DBS checks, qualifications and memberships β and may upload supporting documents. Where a credential shows a Verified badge, it means our team has viewed a supporting document for that credential at a point in time. Verification is a document check, not a guarantee. It is not an endorsement, does not confirm the credential remains in force (insurance and memberships can lapse), and does not change the business's independent status in this section. Credentials without a badge are the business's own declaration. You should still satisfy yourself before booking, and may ask a business to show their documents. We may remove a credential or badge at our discretion.
4. All bookings are at the pet owner's risk
Pet owners use MyPetCare.Pro at their own risk. You are responsible for choosing and contracting with a business, for satisfying yourself that they are suitable for your pet, and for any care decisions made before, during or after a booking. Loss, injury, illness, escape, damage or any other harm arising from a booking made via MyPetCare.Pro is solely a matter between the pet owner and the business.
5. No liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyPetCare.Pro and its operators (Southbyte) accept no liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform, the conduct of any user, or any service booked via the Platform. The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" with no warranties of any kind.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use MyPetCare.Pro lawfully and respectfully. You will not post misleading, abusive, infringing or unlawful content, impersonate others, harass other users, or attempt to disrupt or compromise the Platform. We may suspend or remove accounts and content that breach these terms.
Content you post
You keep ownership of everything you post β your photos, walks, profile updates and comments remain yours. By posting them you give MyPetCare.Pro permission to store and display that content on the Platform so the service can work (for example, showing your walk on the map or your update on your profile). Please only post content that is yours to share, and don't post other people, their pets or their property without their agreement. Bear in mind that walks and profile updates are public to anyone browsing the site. You can delete your content at any time, and deleting your account removes it.
7. Your data
We store the information you provide (display name, postcode, pets β including any vet contact details you add, walks you share, updates you post to your profile, messages, booking details and any credential documents businesses upload) so the service can function. Credential documents are stored privately and are viewed only by our team for verification β they are never shown to other users. A pet's vet details are shared with a business only once they've confirmed a booking. Postcode lookups are performed via postcodes.io. Publicly, only the outward area code (e.g. "M20") is visible. When you send a booking request, the business sees your full postcode so they can judge distance; your full street address and access instructions are shared only once that business confirms the booking, as is your mobile number. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture, including how payment data is handled.
7a. Inviting your own clients (businesses)
If you're a business, you can invite your existing customers by email and add a customer's email address when booking them in. By doing so you confirm that those people are your customers, that you have a lawful basis to hold their address and that they'd reasonably expect to hear from you. You remain the data controller for the addresses you enter; we process them on your behalf, solely to send that invitation or booking confirmation. We won't add them to any marketing list or share them with other businesses.
Uploading purchased lists, or addresses of people who aren't your customers, is a breach of these terms and may result in your account being suspended.
8. Service & availability
There is no charge to create an account, list services or make bookings. The only charges on the Platform are the optional Pro membership subscription and the payment fees on optional in-app card payments described in section 2. The Platform is provided "as is": features may change, be added or be removed as the platform grows, and we make no uptime or service-level commitments.
9. Updates coming soon
